In this hands-on session, led by Janet McDonagh, you’ll learn how to make your own paper from pulp, exploring texture, thickness, and surface quality. The focus is on creating strong, tactile sheets suitable for embroidery, drawing, and zine-making.
You’ll experiment with fibres and inclusions to produce unique papers that invite mark-making and stitch. Suitable for all levels — no prior experience required. All materials and tools are provided for the workshop.
The paper made in this workshop will be used to make an artist book in the Part 2- Artist Book Binding by Artistic Stitches on Sunday 31 May, 1 to 4 pm.
Tutor: Janet McDonagh, an experienced workshop leader, is an accomplished mixed media and textile artist creating artwork in a variety of media and styles.
