A charity piano recital by Nikita Burzanitsa in aid of The Amber Trust.
The Amber Trust is a charity dedicated to supporting blind and partially sighted children across the UK through music. Founded in 1995, its mission is to ensure that visual impairment or additional disabilities do not prevent young people from accessing meaningful musical opportunities. The charity provides grants—known as Amber Music Awards—for lessons, instruments, and specialist equipment, as well as running tailored music programmes for children with complex needs. By nurturing musical talent and creativity, The Amber Trust aims to build confidence, promote inclusion, and transform the lives of children who might otherwise face significant barriers.
The event continues the ongoing commitment of Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre, which is supporting the charity for the third consecutive year. Through performances like this, the centre helps raise both funds and awareness, reinforcing the role of live music in expanding access and opportunity for blind and partially sighted young musicians.

Nikita Burzanitsa was born into a family of musicians in Donetsk, Ukraine. He began his piano lessons at the age of 7 with Professor Nataliya Chesnokova and subsequently studied at Wells Cathedral School and the Donetsk State Conservatory. In 2017 he received a Double Scholarship and the Milstein Medal to study at the Royal College of Music, and in 2021 the ABRSM Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship enabled him to study for his Masters degree at RCM.
He has been a keen participant in international festivals and competitions, including, most recently, winning First Prize at the Làszlò Spezzaferri International Music Competition in Italy; the Moscow International Music Competition; the Nouvelles Étoiles International Music Competition in Paris, and the Virtuoso category of the Vienna Music Competition.
Nikita has taken part in masterclasses with piano greats including Stephen Hough, Barry Douglas and Mitsuko Uchida, and is a keen recitalist and concerto performer.
