Way To Heaven by Juan Mayorga - Do not use

Two boys play with a spinning top.
A courting couple quarrel over a gift.
A girl teaches her doll to swim.
A deserted train station where the clock always says six.

What do you see?

Inspired by a visit by the Red Cross to Theresianstadt concentration camp (Terezin) in 1944, award-winning Spanish playwright, mathematician and philosopher Juan Mayorga, presents a play within a play, showing how historical trauma echoes and resonates across the centuries.

This is the story of the Holocaust.
But it is not just then, not just them.

In an increasingly dangerous world, where truth is under constant attack, this play speaks to the fragility of human beings in the face of violence and oppression, and to our common humanity when people seek to demonise the "other".
