Thames Valley Contemporary Textiles is a group of interesting and diverse members, who combined - have an immense range of experience and talents from traditional crafts to contemporary textiles. Our mission as a group is to learn from each other, be progressive and forward thinking but most importantly keeping the traditional crafts alive and passing these amazing skills and techniques onto the next generation.
‘Threads of Time’ is an intimate exhibition of mixed media and textile work inspired by the personal, symbolic and cultural connections to an artefact resulting in a modern interpretation. Artefacts can be powerful non-verbal storytellers, to educate and express personal experiences to a place, a time and society thus inspiring a diverse range of ideas and outcomes.
